What winter is actually like in Bowmanville
Bowmanville sits at the point where Durham stops being suburban, and the weather follows the same line. North of the 401, up Liberty Street and Regional Road 57 toward the Oak Ridges Moraine, the ground rises and open fields on either side of the road produce genuine whiteout drifting in a north wind — conditions that simply do not occur down by Port Darlington on the same afternoon. The 418, being newer and cutting across open country, catches the same wind.
