What the visit includes

  • An inspection to establish whether the puncture can be repaired safely
  • A plug or patch repair from inside the tire where the damage allows it
  • Your spare fitted and the flat stowed if a repair would not be safe
  • The tire inflated to the pressure on your door placard, not a guess
  • Lug nuts torqued to spec rather than run down with an impact gun

What to have ready

  • Your exact location — a cross street, a highway marker, or a dropped pin
  • Whether you have a usable spare, and the wheel lock key if your car uses one
  • The tire size from the sidewall, if you can read it safely

Can every flat tire be repaired?

No, and the honest answer matters more than the quick one. A puncture in the central tread area, under about six millimetres wide, can usually be repaired properly with a patch-plug from inside the tire. Damage to the sidewall or the shoulder cannot — there is no safe repair for either, because that part of the tire flexes constantly at speed. A tire that has been driven on while flat is also usually finished, even when the outside looks undamaged, because the internal structure has already broken down. We inspect first and tell you which of those you are dealing with.

What happens if the tire cannot be repaired?

We fit your spare if you have a usable one, which gets the car moving immediately. If there is no spare, or the spare is a space-saver you would rather not drive on through winter, we can supply and fit a replacement tire on the same visit — new or used, sourced to match what is already on the vehicle. Matching matters more than people expect: mixing tread patterns or wear depths across an axle changes how the car behaves under braking.

Is it safe to drive a short distance on a flat?

It is worth avoiding even for a few hundred metres. Driving on a deflated tire lets the wheel rim run on the road surface, which can bend or crack an alloy wheel and turn a repairable puncture into a replacement tire plus a replacement wheel. If the car is somewhere dangerous — a live lane, a blind bend, a highway shoulder with traffic close by — getting clear matters more than the tire. Anywhere else, stop where you are and call.

Common questions

How much does mobile flat tire repair cost in Oshawa?

Jang Mobile Tire Service quotes flat tire repair over the phone, because the price depends on whether the puncture can be patched or the tire has to be replaced. Call 437-788-3377 with your location and, if you can read it, the tire size from the sidewall. You will have the price before any work starts.

Do you come out to the highway for a flat tire?

Jang Mobile Tire Service attends roadside calls across Durham Region, including the 401 and 407 corridors. If you are on a live highway shoulder, put your hazards on and wait behind the barrier rather than in the vehicle where possible. If the car is stopped in a live lane, call police first — no tire is worth working next to moving traffic.

Can a run-flat tire be repaired?

Sometimes, but only if it has not actually been driven on while deflated. Running a run-flat while it is soft breaks down the reinforced sidewall internally even when the outside still looks perfect, and a patch over that is not safe at highway speed. Jang Mobile Tire Service inspects the tire first and fits a replacement rather than repairing one that is finished.
