What winter is actually like in Scarborough
Scarborough is dense and heavily built, so drifting is not the problem here — the problem is what winter does to the road surface and to parking. The Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue corridors take a lot of salt and a lot of freeze-thaw, and the resulting potholes and broken edges are hard on tires. On residential streets, snowbanks narrow the road so much that a vehicle with a flat often has nowhere legal or safe to sit, which changes where the work can actually be done.
