What winter is actually like in Brooklin
Brooklin sits high enough north of the lake that it behaves like a different climate from downtown Whitby fifteen minutes south. Snow that falls as rain at the lakeshore accumulates here, and the concession roads running east and west out of the village — Columbus Road, Ashburn Road, and the sideroads off Baldwin Street — are the first in the area to drift closed and among the last to be cleared. It is a genuinely rural winter attached to a suburban village.
